I got to know Michelle during my stay in Malta whilst I was studying English. Teaching and learning can sometimes be boring, but not with Michelle! She is very friendly, down to earth and always maintains a relaxed atmosphere in her class whilst keeping it professional. That is the reason why we had a lot of fun together. She corrected my mistakes and showed me alternative ways of expressing myself.
She is very flexible with the content of her lesson plans and I had the opportunity of taking both general and business lessons. She helped me with my English CV, with business email writing, preparation for my job interview and with constructive negotiation talks.
Michelle is not the typical teacher. She showed me life on the island of Malta, the people, the food and many cultural traditions. She is very organised and as a student, I never felt alone or homesick.
Malta is surrounded by a very nice, natural sea. As I was living in a seaside area, I often saw children learning how to sail and the elderly enjoying their time fishing. In general, the Maltese enjoy sailing events, as every year there is a big international regatta. There are also other activities like golf and diving around the beautiful islands. In the spring, the island is full of flowers.
Maltese driving rules and cuisine are very similar to British, however, the coffee is similar to Italian – that is a really special cultural mix.
During my stay in Malta, I met a lot of people from different countries, which I enjoyed and found very interesting.
Malta has great places to explore. I will definitely go back there again!
